Senior Policy Analyst

Salary $67,418.93 - $77,019.79 annually
Reporting to a branch director, the Senior Policy Analyst provides policy development and analytic support by managing projects of strategic significance to the Ministry of Health, the healthcare system and the public, and providing senior level policy advice on significant issues. This will require the incumbent to have a breadth of knowledge of the health care system, government policies in BC, Canada, and internationally, and to work on highly sensitive and confidential issues.
Senior Policy Analysts support the Legislation, Intergovernmental Relations and Knowledge Management Branch by researching issues, engaging with stakeholders and supporting the use of research evidence in policy and decision making through their work supporting Innovation Centre project teams. The Centre will seek to change the way that Ministry staff work together by creating a dynamic environment that encourages the flow of people and ideas. Supports planned for the Innovation Centre will allow the Ministry to leverage research, evidence, and data in Ministry initiatives. Senior Policy Analysts undertake systematic evidence reviews, promote the use of evidence in policy development, and manage / facilitate project team initiatives using innovative approaches to help implement creative solutions. The Senior Policy Analyst will use their analytical thinking, service orientation, project management and organizational skills to promote research, knowledge management, and innovation.
Qualifications for this role include:
- Experience in the development of legislation, regulation and policy.
- Experience in planning and coordinating complex projects/assignments.
- Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content.
- Experience in research or use of research and evidence.
- Experience leading and facilitating workshops, and coordinating/managing
project teams to help bring about desired outcomes using a variety of methods and techniques.
