Background & Purpose

The purpose of the Applied Research in Cancer Control theme group is to connect researchers, policy-makers, clinicians, and students from the CAHSPR community and the Canadian Centre for Applied Research in Cancer Control (ARCC).  The cancer control community is facing many pressures, such as rising cancer incidence and high costs of therapy; however, there are also many opportunities for improvement, through greater personalization of screening and treatment, growth of patient-centered survivorship initiatives, and an increased emphasis on cancer prevention.  By strengthening the connections between cancer control and health services researchers in Canada, we hope to facilitate collaboration and improve knowledge translation, to ultimately improve cancer control for Canadians.

ARCC is dedicated to the development of researchers and leaders of tomorrow by offering workshops and travel awards to trainees looking to expand their knowledge and disseminate their work.
