The Department of Community Health Sciences is situated in the College of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences. It comprises academics and public health practitioners working in education, research and service related to health services, health policy and planning, population health, family health, societal and cultural dimensions of health, critical social theory and health, Indigenous health and global health. The Department fosters integrated and multidisciplinary approaches, and faculty members interact with health professionals and policy-makers from a variety of provincial, national and international organizations. The Department is now inviting applications for one full-time tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, and one at the rank of Associate Professor. We are seeking dynamic individuals, who can make substantial contributions in one or more of areas indicated above.

The appointments will begin on September 1, 2015, or soon thereafter. The successful candidates will hold a PhD and/or MD degree, or equivalent, and will have advanced research training and experience in the social and/or the health sciences. They will have the ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary scholarly environment, and the ability to contribute to undergraduate and graduate education. The successful candidates will be able to foster strong community-based relationships, and to translate research-based knowledge to decision makers, clinicians and the public. For those applying at the Associate Professor rank, evidence of success as an independent investigator is expected, including appropriate publications and research grants.
