Twitter 101

Hundreds of users – including many of the individuals and organizations that comprise CAHSPR – engage in debate about health policy issues on Twitter every day. To follow the action, go to www.twitter.com and search for #CAHSPR (or click on this link: https://twitter.com/#!/search/CAHSPR).

To join the conversation, sign up for a twitter account and start tweeting! Here are three key pointers for doing so:

• Be Concise: Tweets can be 140 characters long but shorter ones allow others to quote you (which gives you credit for sharing an idea or link).
• Use Hashtags: Keywords marked with a hashtag (e.g., #CAHSPR, #CDNhealth) allow users to find and follow tweets on specific topics. Use them in your tweets!
• Provide Links: When referencing sourced info, be sure to include the URL link or Twitter handle of the source (e.g. @CAHSPR = CAHSPR’s Twitter handle).
