The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are:
o To contribute to a reliable supply of highly qualified public health professionals able to respond to current and emerging public health problems across the country, including rural and northern communities.
o To provide special recognition and support to students who are pursuing a Master's of Public Health degree in Canada.
o To build capacity for effective knowledge translation and use of research evidence by the public health system working with other sectors.
Funds available – $ 360,000 for approximately 60 practicum awards
Maximum amount per practicum award – $5,600
Grant duration – One year
