There are many ways that research can lead to better health. Think of the medications you take, the treatments you receive at the hospital or the public health programs in your community. But who determines what research is explored, how studies are conducted, and how the results are used? Most of the time, these decisions are made by researchers and policy makers. Can patients play a larger role in shaping health research? We think so. The Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research is working to engage citizens in all stages of the research process. It’s time to become a true partner in your own health. Ensure your voice is heard by joining us for a discussion of how Canadians can play an active role in health research.
