Director, Knowledge Management

Salary $73,400.00 - $101,900.00 annually

Ministry policies, planning, and decision-making are ideally informed by strong evidence derived from high-quality internal analysis, from the ever-growing body of international health research literature, and from direct commissioning of new research when it is necessary. The Knowledge Management unit supports the effective use of evidence and organizational knowledge in Ministry initiatives, in alignment with the Ministry’s Research and Knowledge Management Strategy.  This includes leadership of the Ministry Innovation Centre, the Evidence Service and the Health and Human Services Library (HHSL).   

The Ministry Innovation Centre will be a physical space that provides resources and supports to foster collaborative and innovative solutions to support Ministry of Health initiatives. The Centre will help drive a change in the way that Ministry staff work together and create a dynamic environment that encourages the flow of people and ideas. The Director of Knowledge Management is responsible for providing strategic advice on MoH knowledge management and innovation activities, and overseeing a number of MoH and provincial level projects that include internal and external stakeholders. This role includes: providing strategic advice on knowledge management opportunities and challenges, promoting the use of evidence and knowledge in policy development, and building strong constructive relationships with Ministry program areas, health authorities, academia, and health sector partners to leverage in Ministry initiatives that will be supported by the Innovation Centre. 

Qualifications for this role include:

• Graduate degree in business administration, public administration, health or equivalent plus two years directly related project management/policy/research experience; or an undergraduate degree in public policy, health or research-based discipline and four years directly related policy, research or project management experience.
• Experience at a senior level organizing, supporting, leading and managing a portfolio of diverse and complex large and smaller scale projects simultaneously.
• Experience establishing collaborative relationships with executives and leading organizational change associated with implementation.
• Experience leading and coaching multi-disciplinary senior level professionals and/or managers in the development and implementation of complex projects.
