A post-doctoral fellowship (PDF) position is available at the Social and Epidemiological Research (SER) Department at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto Ontario, Canada. The PDF will be part of an established research team that includes health services researchers, health economists, physicians, biostatisticians and decision makers. This PDF position involves estimating the costs of cancer care in five Canadian provinces – British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Québec and Nova Scotia – using linked cancer registry and health care administrative databases. The PDF will work closely with analysts, the Principal Investigators, and other members of the study team, to identify and cost health care resources associated with prostate, breast, colorectal and lung cancers. This study will be carried out in conjunction with the Canadian Centre for Applied Research in Cancer Control (ARCC), co-located at the British Columbia Cancer Agency and Cancer Care Ontario.
The position will be of particular interest to individuals with a PhD in health economics, health services research, or epidemiology with a strong interest and experience in the use of large administrative healthcare databases for health economics research. Interest and experience in costing methods, health services research involving the use of administrative data, statistical methodology, and cancer care are highly desirable. The PDF will be expected to play a leading role in research design, analysis, interpretation, presentation and dissemination of the results, including peer-reviewed publications and additional peer-reviewed grants.
The PDF position is for three years and carries a competitive stipend. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority.
