Mississauga Halton Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) is committed to providing outstanding care to every person, every day. As one of 14 CCACs across Ontario, the primary focus is on helping patients plan and make informed choices about their health care options and ensuring patients get the care they need in the community. At the heart of quality community care is individualized care coordination that focuses on meeting each patient’s best interests. To do this, the Mississauga Halton CCAC works in partnership with patients, families, care providers, hospitals, long-term care homes and other community agencies in pursuit of excellence and innovation in community care As demand for services continues to rise, Mississauga Halton CCAC is challenging traditional ways of providing care and developing an exciting new approach to the design of regional programs using a research and evaluation framework that is currently being developed. To lead this agenda for change, Mississauga Halton CCAC is creating an exciting new leadership position as Vice President, Regional Programs and Strategic Development.

 

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President, Regional Programs and Strategic Development will have responsibility for the development of designated regional programs across the Mississauga Halton region using evidence-based frameworks to determine patient identification, resource allocation, effective program performance and appropriate governance and management structures.  The initial focus will be on developing regional programs in the areas of wound care, hospice palliative care and primary care. This will require working closely with the Vice President, Patient Care and regional partners.  Leading the research agenda is a key strategic element of the regional program work and the new Vice President, Regional Programs and Strategic Development will work closely with the Vice President, People and Quality within the CCAC, and develop the partnership with Trillium Health Partners as the Regional Academic Lead.

 

As the corporate lead for the development of the Mississauga Halton CCAC Strategic Plan, the Vice President, Regional Programs and Strategic Development will work closely with the Vice President, Corporate Services on the production of the Balanced Scorecard and provide oversight to the implementation process and the monitoring of outcomes of the plan. The Vice President, Regional Programs and Strategic Development will ensure that all portfolio business plans are aligned with the strategy as well as the organization’s Quality, Risk and Safety Framework.

 

In this role the Vice President will have the opportunity to grow the team supporting this new portfolio.

As an accomplished leader with a passion for quality personalized health care and an ability to inspire it in others, you will provide strategic advice to the CEO and the Board of Directors and, at the request of the CEO, you will serve as Acting CEO during the CEO’s planned absences. As a systems thinker and collaborator, you will establish and maintain highly effective relationships with other service providers, community agencies and the Mississauga Halton LHIN and champion a patient-centred customer service culture. As a team builder, you will have the opportunity to grow the team supporting this new portfolio. Your experience with the application of research methods and the use of qualitative and quantitative evaluation frameworks will strengthen operational and strategic decision-making processes and set new and ambitious targets for organizational and portfolio performance.

 

In addition to your background in clinical care, you will hold a Masters-level qualification in Health Sciences, Health or Business Administration or a related field. You will have a minimum of ten years related leadership experience including five years in a senior management role in a healthcare organization and can demonstrate success in building high performance accountable teams. You are an exceptional motivator with excellent interpersonal skills who is sensitive to working in a culturally diverse environment. You have the ability to elicit new ideas and build support for developing innovative solutions in a strategic context.
