The Senior Analyst is responsible for support of analytics, measurement and evaluation, and information delivery for Strategic Clinical Networks within Alberta Health Services - http://www.albertahealthservices.ca/scn.asp.

The Senior Analyst consults with clients (e.g., multi-disciplinary teams physicians, nurses, allied health, IT, quality performance improvement, knowledge management, analysts) to fully understand and define the information required, determine the appropriate methodology, data types and sources to use, complete the analysis, provide interpretations and recommendations, and present the findings to clinicians and senior administrators. The data and information provided by the Senior Analyst supports operational and business planning, strategic planning, program and system planning and evaluation, research, as well as performance reporting for AHS Strategic Clinical Networks.

The location for this position is negotiable throughout Alberta.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum Master’s-level education with a strong quantitative component in a related field, e.g., community health sciences, health economics, biomedical statistics, epidemiology, quality assurance, or several years of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years experience working with spreadsheets, databases and tools for querying, integrating, analyzing, interpreting, reporting and disseminating data.
  • Knowledge and ability to produce a variety of descriptive, inferential, and predictive statistics.
  • Ability to understand clinical issues, and to communicate effectively with a broad variety of people at different levels within the organization and with different skills and expertise.
  • Experience in screening, cleaning, linking, creating, modifying and analyzing datasets in a statistical or database-management software package.
  • Experience developing key performance indicators an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams.
