The School of Public Health and Health Systems at the University of Waterloo seeks an exceptional teacher and applied researcher for a tenure track position in evaluation of health programs, policies and systems. The position requires a PhD or equivalent, and the initial appointment will be at a rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
The successful applicant must have an outstanding record of expertise, leadership and work experience in health-related program, policy and/or systems evaluation, including training and mentoring novice evaluators. The ability to develop and teach an array of graduate and undergraduate courses, including on-line courses, on evaluation fundamentals, theories, applications, practice and management, as well as mixed-methods (quantitative and qualitative) is required. Affiliation with evaluation networks and evaluation societies (CES and AEA) is expected. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of successful research designed to advance the field of program and policy evaluation for public health and/or health systems. Persons whose research is applicable to health system integration, health inequalities, healthy aging, healthy environments, or food and water safety/security/governance would be especially appealing.
The School of Public Health and Health Systems is Waterloo’s newest academic unit and reinforces Waterloo’s reputation as Canada’s most innovative university. We have started a six year period of strategic growth, innovation, and transformation that will add seven faculty positions to a complement of 27 professors. We currently offer a BSc, MSc and PhD in health studies, a Bachelor of Health Promotion, professional (primarily on-line) Master’s degrees in Public Health and Health Informatics, and PhD specializations in aging, health and well-being, as well as work and health.
